I adapt every session to your stage of recovery, comfort and individual circumstances. Post-operative care is not the same as a general lymphatic massage, and the technique must be adjusted carefully for a recently operated body.
Two pathways of care
Some clients choose lymphatic drainage before an upcoming procedure as part of their wider preparation and wellbeing routine. The appropriate timing depends on the planned surgery, your health and the instructions of your surgeon or medical team.
Speak with your surgeon before booking pre-operative care, particularly where you have an existing medical condition or a complex surgical plan.
Following surgery, swelling, bruising, tenderness and changes in mobility can be part of the normal recovery process. Where your surgeon has approved it, carefully adapted lymphatic drainage may support comfort and the movement of excess fluid during recovery.
Treatment timing and technique must reflect the procedure performed, wound healing, drains, garments and any instructions supplied by your surgical team.
Why technique matters
Not all lymphatic drainage massage is the same. Recently operated tissue requires careful consideration, lighter and adapted techniques, and a clear understanding of the procedure and stage of recovery.
I hold a Certificate in Post-Operative Lymphatic Drainage Massage and will only proceed where the treatment is appropriate and consistent with the guidance provided by your surgeon or treating healthcare professional.

What to expect
I'll ask about the procedure, surgery date, current recovery stage, medical guidance and any relevant symptoms or concerns. You may be asked to provide clearance or written instructions from your surgeon.
Where it is appropriate to proceed, I'll use gentle post-operative lymphatic techniques adapted to your comfort, healing and surgical areas.
Your comfort will be checked throughout the session. Treatment may be adjusted, postponed or stopped if your symptoms or recovery stage indicate that medical review is more appropriate.

Post-operative lymphatic drainage is a supportive service and does not replace your surgeon's advice, medical follow-up or emergency care.
Please obtain approval from your surgeon or treating healthcare professional before booking where required. Their instructions regarding massage timing, wounds, drains, compression garments, medications and activity must always take priority.
I may defer or decline treatment where clearance is unavailable or where it would be safer for you to return to your medical team.
